Visit Oxford Botanic Garden
The oldest botanic garden in the UK, and home to over 5,000 different plant species.
You can buy a ticket on the door on the day of your visit. We recommend that you pre-book online during busy periods, especially during weekends and holidays, as entry is not guaranteed. Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable; we cannot amend these over the phone, so please take care when selecting the day and time.
We strongly recommend that groups of 15+ pre-book on our group visits page- entry cannot be guaranteed during busy periods.
Occasionally there are closures to the Glasshouses or parts of our site for general maintenance, education groups, and events. Please view our Opening Hours page, which is updated on a weekly basis, or contact our office in advance of your visit if you would like to check a specific date.

The Botanic Garden Boutique is open. Our best-sellers are still available for you to click and collect from the Botanic Garden.
The toilets, accessible toilets, and changing facilities are open at the Botanic Garden. There are additional cleaning and social distancing measures in place to ensure our staff’s and our visitors’ safety. This is subject to change.
We welcome all visitors, including those with disabilities, their carers, family members and friends to enjoy the Garden.
The Botanic Garden is fully wheelchair accessible. We have a wheelchair available for public use: please note this must be booked in advance at our Ticket Office (telephone 01865 610 300).

Dogs are not permitted at the Botanic Garden, with the exception of registered assistance dogs (these may be required to wear an identification coat or marker on their lead or harness).
Food and Drink
Visitors are very welcome to bring picnics with them; there are plenty of benches. Oxford city centre also has a wide range of cafés and restaurants less than a ten minutes' walk from the Garden.
Jericho Coffee Traders
Our pop-up cafe is open for visitors to purchase hot and cold drinks, as well as a selection of cakes and snacks. Hot drinks include a full range of coffee and teas as well as hot chocolate and chai lattes. They sell cakes ranging from frangipane, brownie and flapjack, and ice creams on offer include strawberry, chocolate, Daim Bar crunch, and mango sorbet. You can find them at the Botanic Garden, near the River Cherwell.
