Celebrate autumn at Harcourt Arboretum with a family-friendly day of exploration, crafts, food and seasonal wonder. Explore our colourful woodland, meet local makers, and join hands-on activities that connect all ages with nature.
Spend a joyful autumn day in the Arboretum with live music, hands-on activities and local retail stalls set against a backdrop of seasonal woodland colour. There’s something for every age, from birds of prey to family-friendly crafts and local food to warm you up. As part of the day, you can enjoy:
Beginner archery sessions for ages 10 and over
Apple pressing with Oxford Food Hub and Good Food Oxford – bring your own apples to press!
OBGA Arborist team tree-climbing demonstrations
Bird of prey display (2pm) plus close-up encounters
Enchanting interactive walking tour for all the family with WhatNot Theatre Co
Natural crafts, sensory activities and messy play with the Education Team aimed at all ages
Woodland-inspired face painting for children (11am-1pm)
Traditional woodwork, weaving, spinning and natural dyeing skills
Winding woodland trails to explore autumn colour, fungi and rare trees
Live music from Song Path, Oakstone Trio and Three Idle Women
Sustainable market stalls featuring independent Oxfordshire makers and eco-conscious products
Seasonal food and drink from nearby producers, including hot treats and vegetarian options
Tickets: Advance booking recommended. Family, adult, and concession prices available. Children under 3 enter for free.
Getting here: Limited onsite parking is available and must be booked in advance. A free shuttle service will run from Redbridge Park and Ride to the Arboretum throughout the day.
Accessibility: Paths around the site are uneven and may be muddy.
Dogs: Dogs are not permitted at the Botanic Garden or the Arboretum, with the exception of assistance dogs.
