Hedge laying competition - Saturday 28th February, 2026
Free visitor entry from 10am-4pm (last entry 3pm).
Join us at Harcourt Arboretum to watch a Novice Hedge Laying Competition and celebrate this traditional countryside craft. Throughout the day, competitors will be working along the Arboretum’s hedgerows, demonstrating skill and technique as they lay either Midland or South of England style hedges within a five‑hour window. Visitor entry is free all day (10am-4pm (last entry 3pm)). Judging will take place from 2.30pm, with the winners crowned after 3.30pm.
