By kind permission of Hill Close Gardens Trust
Set in the heart of Warwick, Hill Close Gardens are rare survivors of Victorian detached, hidden hedged gardens once used by townsfolk who lived above their businesses with nowhere to grow flowers, fruit, vegetables, keep a pig or relax after work. This unique set of 16 gardens, featuring four Grade ll Victorian summerhouses, are the only ones now open to the public in England. Your two-hour guided tour outlines their rescue from development in the 1990s, revealing the individual lives of the garden owners and tenants – auctioneers, drapers, bootmakers. A fascinating garden visit into another era.
Tea, coffee and cake included at the visit’s end. Plants from nursery and produce from the gardens for sale.
Friends £15, guests £20
