Little Amal meets Alice - sold out

This event is now sold out.

At 1.00pm on Tuesday 26 October 2021, in the 150th anniversary year of Lewis Carroll's Alice Through The Looking Glass, Amal will reach Oxford and be welcomed by Alice at Oxford Botanic Garden.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Space for this event is very limited. To watch the performance of 'Little Amal meets Alice' you must book the 12.00pm - 12.30pm time slot (this includes all Friends, Annual Passholders and members of the University). Upon arrival you will be shown to the performance area. All other timeslots for this day will be normal Garden entry tickets that do not include the 'Little Amal meets Alice' performance.

Join Alice in Wonderland as she welcomes Amal, a 10-year-old refugee girl, to Oxford during her journey on foot over 8,000km from Syria to Manchester. Taking the form of giant puppets, Alice and Amal will meet, become friends, and share memories as they walk through the city, joined by local children and young people who will present the story of when Alice met Amal.

The Story Museum is proud to present this public event as part of The Walk, an international arts and campaigning project in which the puppet Amal will follow in the footsteps of thousands of unaccompanied child refugees who have been forced to take the same treacherous journey. Starting in Gazienter in late July, Amal will pass through 50 towns and cities across Europe, including Oxford on Tuesday 26 October, arriving in Manchester at the end of October. Follow her incredible journey at https://www.walkwithamal.org/

Alice and Amal’s adventure will begin at the Oxford Botanic Garden before they walk through the streets of Oxford together. You can find out more about the event here: Amal Meets Alice | The Story Museum
