History Tour with Mark Davies

Join Oxford local historian and author Mark Davies for a stroll around the Garden.

During this tour, Mark will talk about some of the charismatic, eccentric, and ground-breaking individuals who have graced the Garden over the last four centuries. These include early keepers such as ‘the German Prince of Plants’ and ‘Horticulture’s Sapient King’; visitors (respected, regal, and rude) as well as balloonatics, scavengers, apes, dragons, and monsters.

This course runs in the year Oxford Botanic Garden is celebrating its 400th anniversary.
