snowdrops at st edmund hall

By kind permission of the Principal, Professor Katherine J Willis, CBE

The College has over 20,000 snowdrops growing in its lawns and borders around the Library (formerly the parish church of St Peter in the East). Most of these have been planted within the last 10 years and the clumps are now starting to fill out. Together with thousands of Galanthus nivalis are G. atkinsii, G. elwesii, G. plicatus and other hybrid varieties. We will be given a guided tour of the gardens and part of the College by the Head Gardener, Susan Kasper.
